FLOKK TILL YOU DROP is a satire on the obsolete saying shop till you drop.
The project was done in 2020 along side Melkorka Magnúsdóttir & Rebekka Ashley, anthropologist & product designer. The aim is to raise awareness about consumption and the amount of clothing donated to The Red Cross in Iceland. What happens to these items? What information is contained in one ton of clothing? How can design add value to this material? These are examples of questions we had in mind while sorting through one ton of clothes thrown out by Icelanders.
Greina tonn frá Rauða krossinum til að sýna neyslumenningu Íslendinga
The project was a collaborative project of the Red Cross Clothing Collection, the Iceland Academy of the Arts, the University of Iceland, and the Icelandic Textile Center. The project was funded by the Student Innovation Fund.
